Dear friends,
After passing the signs for Leeds Castle over 300 times in the last 32 years on our journeys to and from the continent, we finally made it to the actual site.
The house and gardens are delightful and interestingly the place has been owned by queens in times that property ownership was not usually associated with women. It dates from before the invasion of 1066 and the first known female owner was Eleanore of Castile who lived in the 13th century.
The bird of prey aviaries are fascinating and lots of young families came to play at the artificial beach. There is something for everyone and it is well worth a visit.
God bless,
Dineke van den Bogerd
