Notes for Sunday 14 June 2026

Dear friends,

After a blistering end of May and a wet start of June we have reached a more normal summer month. For me, I enjoy the old-fashioned changeable weather with alternate warm and wet days. It’s much easier on nature too!

This proud father was singing his little heart out in Dorking earlier this week to proclaim his territory. Blackbirds rely on worms to bring up their young and the long dry spell in spring will have meant that worms were difficult to come by. If he’s on a second brood life will be that little bit easier for him and Mrs blackbird now.

God bless,

Dineke
