Dear friends,
I am doing all I can to keep the house cool in preparation for the next (fifth?) heatwave this summer.
We are by now dab hands at managing the windows and curtains to stay cool: all closed during the day and open as soon as the inside temperature is higher than outdoors. It has meant that we can actually sleep at night but as the walls warm up it becomes more difficult after several days of around 30C to keep things cool.
Let’s try and enjoy it though and hope and pray for some rain soon.
Please spare a thought for all the volunteers involved in setting up and running the Capel show next week and I’m sure the church could do with some more volunteers for the BBQ and so could the show itself for that matter so please get in touch if you want to support us, supporting our church and village!
