Dear friends,
It’s always a joy to have family come and visit.
My sister came last weekend and on Monday we spent a lovely day in the Knepp estate. We did the 9km walk and met this young sandpiper (or was it a woodcock? There’s me hoping!). We did not spot any storks but it is encouraging to hear that they are now gradually spreading from Sussex to nearby areas. A stork was recently spotted in the area of Capel so dare I hope for a breeding pair in years to come?
We are enjoying another spell of warm weather but let’s pray that nature finds a way adapt to the ever increasing temperatures and that humanity finds a way to curb our expansive consumption causing such devastation around the globe.
