Notes for Sunday 22 February 2026

Dear friends,

The picture today is of our old Ford Ranger. Bought in 2008 and well-maintained it has come to the end of its working life.

The ECO story behind it is that even though it was a gas guzzling monster it was more beneficial to the environment to keep it running as long as possible, considering how much energy and materials have gone into producing it in 2003. I sincerely hope that its useful life will continue as the parts (good engine, new tyres and battery to name but a few) will be sold by the scrap yard to serve in other cars.

We had a lot of use out of it and it hasn’t given us much trouble but it’s replacement, a small EV, will serve our new lifestyle better and have a much smaller impact ion God’s creation.
