Greeting cards: reduce, re-use, recycle

The weather has changed and Christmas season is around the corner. When buying your greeting cards please consider cards without a plastic wrapper as offered by the National Trust and others. Alternatively buy bulk to reduce packaging.
Choosing Forest Stewardship Council (FSC® ) certified cards ensures the paper used has been sustainably and ethically produced. Cards without glitter and plastic decorations can be recycled easily by the recipient and buying from local artists saves carbon miles.
After Christmas consider saving the cards you received and making your own cards and gift tags for next year. Otherwise remove all non-recyclable material before recycling the paper as usual.
